Another letter from the GP today.

I have to go and have blood tests at the surgery AND the hospital for something called "RENIN", plus start a new drug alongside the hydrocortisone. I will have to go into hospital for a day for further tests following seeing the specialists in March. This time the letter came with an appt for tues. no ringing up hassle at least!

The RA is really, really bad.

I managed to have my hair cut this afternoon- it was supposed to be a wet cut but I couldnt sit in the salon chair and move my neck.
in the end had it done standing over the basin. its a silly thing but it upset me.

Been in bed since. too many things to list have gone wrong. there has very certainly been a sudden acceleration in the RA.

The gp has asked to see me as the CRP just keeps rising and the ESR is up too. They are checking for "other things" as the lumps on my head and leg are about an inch wide or so and this is not right.

We have a date for Gem moving (march 2nd). I have paid my PA extra time and she is coming to help Richard and Gem sort out her things for the move. She is soooooo excited about the special boarding school, equine therapy, cat cuddling etc. I wont be much physical help and me blubbing in a corner is going to mystify Gems and not help things- not least me- so I am going to my mums with michael and bernice sunday afternoon.

I will keep you posted but I really could do with being rather better. If someone could arrange this I'd be grateful!!!!!

Love

Jenni xx

Jenni, I wish we could do something, if only it were possible. So glad for Gemma, and the way you are going about the move is the best for her. Its so hard for you, but if you are there you will be so upset and as you say, she will be confused.
So sorry you are having such a bad time, I really dont know what to say. Its just so upsetting hearing all these problems that you are going through, and not being able to help you. You are always here for all of us, with good advice and support, I so wish we could do more Jenni. I wish you some rest and relief from pain and tiredness.

Dear Jenni, please know that I am thinking of you and praying that your current medical

I am sure you know how many friends you have on here who, I believe, will all be thinking of you and
sending much love your way.
I will be looking out for your posts and hope you let us all know how you are doing because we care about you so much.

Hi Jenni,

I really wish the RA would give you a break while you get your other problems sorted out.
It just doesn't seem fair that one person can have so many problems and if it was possible to share them with you , we all would I'm sure just so that you could have a rest from it all.
You are doing the best thing for Gemma and hopefully one day you will reap the rewards .

Love and hugs, Doreen xx

Jenni my heart goes out to you.
I am pleased that Gems is excited and is looking forward to the things which she needs.
I wonder if, when that difficult day has gone, your body might be able to relax a little. Maybe the aggravated symptoms are being caused by huge stress and will settle down.
YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

Hi Jenni

It's wonderful that Gemma is looking forward to the change and I'm sure this will bring with it valuable benefits for your whole family. Stress can wreak havoc on the immune system and just maybe once Gemma is settled and you feel more at peace with things you too, as Julie says, will start to feel the benefit.

Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Hi Jenni,

Fantastic news about Gems. I think Lyn is right, "stress has an auto immune response," and you've certainly had more than your fair share of it. Thinking of you, and hoping the pain eases soon, and sending out lots of positive vibes,

love,

Barbara

Jenni

I am heartfelt sorry that you are going through more RA crap. What you have put on your plate these past couple of months have been extreme. Hopefully this is just a signal to you to say stop and relax and does not have any sinister connotatiions.

I believe my RA was triggered by stress and hormones and it being mild is life altering enough so I have my fingers crossed that this will go away once you have had enough care and rest so you can have your life back on track.

Love

Dear Jenni, I thought I had posted a reply already, but I seem to have lost it! Sorry you are having such a hard time!! I hope you have a pleasant afternoon at your moms. It is hard enough with RA without other 'stuff' going on. I am thinking of you!

Big hugs
